We encourage all prospective job applicants to be familiar with our employment criteria. All instructors are required to be CPR certified and have completed the US Sailing SafeSport Training and have passed a NASBLA-approved Safe Boating course prior to the start of the summer season. It is also recommended that the instructor has passed the US Sailing Level 1 Small Boat Instructor certification, or is willing to pursue certification. Our sailing school offers a two-week Instructor Training Course that will also suffice for those individuals who do not possess the US Sailing Level 1 certification. Below are links to several resources that you might find helpful. Please note, we are very supportive of our instructors. We try our best to help you grow as an instructor. EMPLOYMENT CRITERIA
  • All instructors are required to complete the online US Sailing SafeSport class. It is a free course. Registration details can be found here.
  • All instructors are required to complete a Safe Boating course before the start of the season. It can be done in person or online. Click here to register for the online course..
  • All instructors are required to pass an accredited CPR / First Aid / AED course. You can do it on your own, or as a part of our annual instructor refresher class.
  • All instructors are encouraged to achieve their US Sailing Level 1 Small Boat Instructor certification at some point in time. It is a two-part process, online and in person. Click here for more information, or to register for the course.
