Sailing Camp- Ages 8-18yrs Mon - Fri 9am -12pm/4pmOne week classes teaching fundamentals of sailing, focused on safety and fun. Goals are to have students understand rigging their boats, launching, landing, tacking, jibing, capsizing and recovering safely. As students progress to intermediate skills the course focuses on enjoyment of sailing on a more challenging level. Intermediate goals include learning to safely jibe, ease and trim for points of sail without advice and sail in breeze above 12 knots. More advanced skills include increasing speed, mastering skills on different types of boats and introduction to racing. Class size is limited. Instruction will be customized to the individual students . Sailing instructors will assess individual student sailing experience and ability. Students will be grouped according to experience, age and ability so activities can be age and skill appropriate. Half day and full day options available. Many students prefer to stay all day, this choice is available in online checkout.
Adult Intro- Ages 18+ Tuesdays 5:30pm - 8pm 4 WeeksThis class will meet weekly for 4 weeks in the summer. It will start with the basics of how a boat works and get you out of the water enjoying sailing on the school's new two person 420's. Due to Covid only students from the same household will be put in the same boat. We have 3 boats for individuals. Sign up with a partner from your household.
