The Community Sailing School @ Pistakee is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax deductible. We rely extensively on your donations to support our sailing programs. For example, Cortney's Sailing Corner is a scholarship program where we award sailing grants to students who would like to learn how to sail, but might not be in a position to do so. In addition, we have a GoFundMe campaign that we started to help us offset the cost of an Instructor Safety Boat that was purchased in 2024. We also introduced an Adaptive Sailing Program in 2024 for individuals with disabilities.
Our budget includes the cost of running our sailing classes, our staff payroll, staff training and certification, equipment maintenance, sailboat purchases, event sponsorships, marketing and publicity, insurance, facility rental, etc. The list goes on and on. Any and all funds we receive goes right back in to running our school. We also apply for grant funding to help fund our programs, but grants are often difficult to get. Our community, our Board of Director and instructors, and our students thank you for your continued support! :)

Thank you to all of our bowlers, and especially our sponsors. Our Bowling for Bucks fundraiser was a huge success! We raised over $5,000, thanks to all of you. Of course, we welcome any additional donations. They can be made either via Zelle, or PayPay, or by clicking on the sailboat to the right. Thank you very much!!! :)

CORTNEY'S SAILING CORNER

Cortney's Sailing Corner is a program where we award sailing grants to qualifying students. It is meant for students who can demonstrate a financial need to enjoy a complimentary day of sailing. They will learn how sailboats work and practice a variety of knot tying techniques. Another goal is to help our students develop an appreciation and respect for the environment. We also introduce the students to STEM topics and how they relate to sailing. All costs are covered by the grant, including breakfast and lunch. It is truly a wonderful opportunity for those students who might otherwise not have the wherewithal to get out on the water and experience sailing and all it has to offer. We ask that you please consider making a donation to help fund our grant program. You can donate via Zelle by following the directions above. We truly appreciate your support. Thank you! :)
GO FUND ME

THANK YOU FOR HELPING US PURCHASE OUR INSTRUCTOR SAFETY BOAT. It was partly through donations made by you that we were able to purchase a center console Instructor Safety Boat. The boat is used primarily for on-the-water safety and for instructional purposes during our Sailing Camps. Other uses include running our Wednesday Night Races and instructor training. Our goal was to raise $15,000 to be put toward the purchase of the boat. We haven't achieved that goal yet, but your donations did help us offset the cost of a $12,000 used boat that we purchased for the 2024 season. We ask that you please help us to further offset the cost of the boat by donating any amount you are able to via our GoFundMe campaign. It is very much appreciated. Please click here to make a GoFundMe donation. We kindly thank you for your generosity! :)
ROUNDING THE MARK

We invite you to be a part of our Rounding the Mark campaign. Our goal is to reach the $250,000 mark. So far we have raised $76,250. Funds will be used to enhance our sailing program. One of our goals in particular was to introduce an Adaptive Sailing Program, allowing students with physical, developmental, and/or cognitive disabilities to experience the adventure and rewards of sailing. We are happy to report that 2024 was our inaugural year for our Adaptive Sailing Program. We had sixteen students participate. Based on what we heard and saw, it was a very successful first year. We welcome any and all donations, no matter how large or small to help support our programs, such as our Adaptive Sailing Program. You can donate via Zelle by following the directions above. We ask that you become a part of our Rounding The Mark family. Your support is very much appreciated. Thank you. :)
